Hi Kelvin,
Unfortuinately I can't make it to the workshop day today on 2 counts; first I help with the local scout troop and I'm committed to sorting equipment ready for the summer camp today, and secondly Midas is back up on axle stands with the exhast system in bits part way through me cutting and re-welding the manifold to improve ground clearance. Post scout camp I'm planning on taxing and insuring the Midas for August and would love to meet-up with you and see if there are any other inetresting motorsport events in Aug/Sep; you mentioned in another post about local club sprints/auto tests - anything on the horizon?

Ah righty yes. Got to sort out my radiator again on the Gold Coupe as mentioned in the Open Day thread, but yes there's a few event's I'm hoping to get to. One's a sprint at Castle Combe shortly and another is Wiscombe Hill Climb (but not taking part in these in the Midas, I'm driving another car in these ones first) Not sure of the dates off hand but will look them up and of course not 100% sure I've actually got in yet as I'm still waiting to be informed.

Hope we can get a little meet up sorted shortly, anyone else in the Wessex region would be welcome too. I'll have a look if I can find something handy to coincide. I know there's a Mini Weymouth to Exmouth run coming up I'm sure Midas cars would be welcome along for. usually around 100 cars take part in that

26th July I am entered into the Sports Libre Class at Castle Combe in another car :D

Depending on how the Midas is running (still got to fit this new radiator and check I've not totally ragged the engine) I fancy going along to the event in the Midas. The car I'll be competing in is being taken there by someone else so I don't need to worry about hauling equipment, tools and trailers with me on this occasion.

How about meeting up at the circuit to watch some competition and sus out some of the cars we'd be up against in a Midas?

What a great way to do motorsport, turn-up at the track and someone esle brings the car and all the gear - most jealious! I can't make the 26 Jul, but I am entering my Midas into my 1st hillclimb at Wiscombe Park on 6&7 Sep. Good luck at Castlecombe.

So, how did it go? I was spectating at Wiscombe today with my youngest. We did see a very clean Bronze in the carpark which I'd assumed was Kelvins, however it turned out to belong to Welshmidas who tows it behind his camper.

I'd like to see a pic of that!

If only any of mine were as tidy.... No that'll have been Meredith's car.

Castle Combe was entertaining though I didn't go in my Midas as I'm trying to sort out a radiator hose at the moment for the Gold. Re the sprint, had a spot of bother trying to control a car with over 1000 ft lbs of torque and it wanting to burn out the clutch in a matter of seconds. Gradually got better but had a battery disconnect at Quarry which given that the car is electric put an end to things. Saw some wonderful old single seat Coopers though and a gorgeous old Lotus

Had a fantastic day at Wiscombe Hillclimb ... Have been to most hillclimb venues and must say this was spot on.... And to top it all had a great meet up with another Midas nut....great to meet you Rich and look forward to more get togethers in future shows....My Midas is spending a few days in the Sidmouth area for a few days. Well spotted Kelvin...you know the white bronze reall gets around the country behind the motorhome (people say it's nice to see something other than a Smart car behind a motorhome)

I've just had my entry confirmed for the 5 Clubs Hill Climb Event at Wiscombe Park on 6 & 7 Sep. Have entered in Class B1 (Roadgoing Specialist Production Cars, Car Engines up to 1400cc & M/C Engines up to 875cc) and at the moment there are only 2 other runner in this classat present in a GTM Coupe. Entry for the days are filling up so if you want to join in will need to get a move on; I expect to be the slowest of the day as I've only just got the car running and it is far from being sorted in any way (am using this event as a starting point to gauge improvements from) so I won't be embarressing anyone, that is apart from myself! Must get back onto the drive and get the exhaust fixed and back in the car.
