Buy a car without a Q plate.

There's No way to re-register the car, as the existing chassis number will give away it's true identity! But as A111 says, nod nod wink wink!

Yeah nod nod wink wink, but what if your car with a certain non Q registration suddenly changes color? Can you change that easily? I once read in an early kitcar magazine that people took the "Ireland-route". I don't exactly know how it works, but I suppose you export the car to Ireland, register it and then reimport it back to England. Since it came with an Irish registration there is no link to the previous assembled kit car.
