2 days to bloody align the bonnet!
Since I got the car the bonnet has never fitted well although I did improve it initially.
However the drivers side front edge was always 3-4mm above the wing even at maximum adjustment I had even tried bending the hinge.
Time for more drastic measures.
Prior to removing the hinge I drew through the existing holes to gauge what was done beforehand - quite a lot it would seem in terms of butchering holes in fiberglass, so not wanting to remove even more by elongating the holes i cut 10mm out the hinge itself so to bring the bonnet down and allow the hinge a bit of upward movement instead of being at max adjustment.
With that sorted I made some new buffers to raise the mid section of the bonnet (it's almost like it's tried to straighten itself out over the years) and elongated the mounting holes for the catch and I've got panel gaps even Audi would be proud of

It's been a while since I've updated this and I'm still seeking out an alternative to photobucket.

However in the meantime all images as re viewable on Facebook so all should be seen

The white Cortez with sunroof is probably ours. Sunroof fitted at build - from Ford Fiesta if I remember. No problems and no effect on rigidity but the sunroof has a fairly sturdy surround, which could be important. Boot spoiler also fitted at build but main use is as a plate rack on picnics. I just don't drive fast enough any longer for it to contribute to the aerodynamics - either that or I'm totally insensitive to the effect !!
