Well not really had chance to play with engine etc
But Ive picked up fuel pump to go inside the tank during the week. Sooo thought I'd best have a look at the tank and measure up etc
First off was to remove the level sender which I was dreading as the tank is 35+ years old and its covered in all sorts of stone chip and paint but... All the screws came out without much fuss
Inside the tank is in great condition, which is nice surprise.
started to play with the pump, cut out the flange from the donor tank and with a bit of measuring cut a hole in the Midas tank
Not bad position wise need to bend the bracket a bit to get the pump closer to the bottom.
There is a slight sump in the tank but I would prefer it to be a bit deeper ( although I have to consider ground clearance)
So I started to think how I could create one... So I liberated one of the other half's baking tray
After a meeting with Mr angle grinder it looked like this
Should work nicely, although I'll get hold of another tray and do a neater job.
