megasquirt/jolt

Maybe you're squeezing all you can out of a 998, or going large-bore with a 1380 (or even larger!) - either way, let us know all about it here!

megasquirt/jolt

I'm getting all the bits assembled to install my megasquirt ignition.
Could anyone who has installed one of these advise on where they sourced the 25uF at goes between the coil pack and earth?
Or even if they've put one in at all as some builders online deem it unnecessary.

I've got a mega jolt on my mk3 daily driver and used to have mega jolt on my mk2 daily driver, I have never fitted a capacitor on either car.

Nor me. What's it supposed to do?

negate any rf interferance? I don't know, but the diagram I've been working from has one.
Do I have the right diagram?

I thought that grounding the shield on the cable was to isolate from interference.

The sheild on the pip/saw cable and vr sensor isolate from false signals going to and from the main board, so I presume the capacitor is to stop rf noise on other stuff like radios.

Right, I'm making my usual bi-annual attempt at installing megasquirt to control the sparks.
I've got it all loosely wired up, what do I have to download to make it work.
As you can tell, I'm more plug and play than geek, so I hope it's simple.
I'll take it to my local RR when installed and working to fine tune.
Many thanks in advance.
