That looks a bit trick! Not so suitable to FWD, but nice for an inline conversion I think.

I don't think you could rule out fitting a FWD gearbox

What's wrong with a front engined, rear wheel drive Midas? It's been done in a Mini!
It would certainly shock a few of the seven people. I think this is the new project for David M.!

We can but try!
Seriously though, I think I'd hate to put a grinder through the middle of my car to make a big tunnel.
Best would be to run a mid engined car, ala the Z cars one, or the alfa engined bronze. Power and weight are then in the right place.
Lot of work though.
