I have started to collect parts and making parts.
So here goes.

My bell housing and adaptor plate is getting machined at the moment.
I'm hoping to go and see Alan tomorrow so that I can take a photo of the receiving Midas.

Cheers

Looking forward to seeing this take shape! Is it being built for road or competition?

We've just been to my garages and Athchi has measured up and he thinks it's all possible!

That was quick Alan,
It will be North/South configuration.
I think it won't be 2+2 by the time I finish my gearbox and so on.

It will be fun and I will make sure I will keep old Alan entertained with my mistakes!

inline then :o I'd have bet money on it being transverse. So will it be front engined rear wheel drive then?

I wouldn't have minded a Toyota MR2 transverse arrangement in the rear.

A North/South should be interesting mind. I'm guessing a need to modify the tunnel then. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Good luck and please give us plenty of pics of the build!

All the best,

David

Hi,

Yes, it will be FR using volvo 360 gearbox.
I took photo of the car.

I took some measurement and it seems OK.

I'm sure I will use Alan's brain more often than he care to thinks.....

A baby 944 then, that's a very tidy mk1 you have there, it looks like a perfect combination.

Hi,

I left my parts below to a machine shop so that they can mill it to fit nicely to each other.

Image

You can see that bell housing of 360 have been chopped and the other one is my half Gti gearbox casing.
Those will be milled flat and I will get my friend to TIG weld it together so that I can mount 360 gearbox direct to G13B Gti engine.
I think progress from now will be very slow!
