Thanks for reminding me, A111...

...paging David Manifold! Would a BMW headed A series...
(a) fit under one of your modified bonnets?
(b) be taller or shorter than a KAD engine?
(c) and where does the 7 port engine come in terms of overall height?

Hello David.

Ok. Looking at the dimensions I reckon a k head will definitely fit under one of my bonnets. The head is narrower than the Kad head and the pulleys look smaller. Looking at the marcos it looks shorter too. I fitted a long cam kad head under mine though which is bigger than my new short cam kad head. Worse case scenario is a slight bulge on the offside for the cam pulleys.....like the mk4 has on its bonnet, but I think you would probably get away with it.

The bonnet was designed by me to fit over a 7 port head with twin carbs anyway...so you are good to go on that one.

A 7 port head will not fit under a standard bonnet.

I have the moulds for the cross flow bonnet if you need one.

I know, I hope to be in a position to ask you if I can borrow them at some point! :)

I probably won't be lending the moulds out for fear of them getting scrapped with a bad release (easily done!) however I would be happy to make you a bonnet when your ready.

I appreciate your reticence, I'd probably feel the same way.

Just noticed this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390391578984&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:GB:1123 on eBay.

I'd be bidding if I knew anyone who could collect it for me. Two hours to go, and so far, it's only reached £26...

Thanks, reminding me that maybe an 8 valve conversion might be worth considering over the 16 valve, to get more power lower down the rev range. Decisions, decisions...
