Mk2 R1 Promotive conversion

Postby Jvr19630 » Wed Apr 13, 2016 8:51 pm

Finally ran out of excuses not to start this conversion. I have been collecting parts for a while now and finally cleared enough space in the garage to get going.
Starting off by building up the complete front subframe/engine with suspension and brakes
I will post when i can but may be a bit hit and miss with time restaints.

This is going to be a rather exciting project :-)

Has it got a reverse facility?

Well, rather than building i was stripping the modified differential unit to have a look. on the forums it appears these units can leak so i thought sort now rather than later. I will clean all the sealer off and do a dry build to find any issues.

Also a picture of the reverse gearbox

Found the fault on the diff unit, the locating dowels where drilled in the incorrect place forcing the two halves to twist.
I have sorted this (after a lot of messing about) and everything now lines up correcty. Will reassemble at the weekend
