The very rusty mechanical parts of the window mechanism are replaced with new parts (welded).
I did no sandblast them but I have used a phosphoric acid gel and afterwards I have put the parts a a big phosphoric bad for some days , I must say the result is not bad .
The parts were paint with a ZF primer (zinc) with harder , known for his very good anti rust proporties and finally I used a special paint Brantho Korrux which prevents that water and air is coming through .

The suzuki engine hits (right side) the bonnet , I knew this before but I changed first the bonnet (a movable bonnet to have more access to the engine ).
The timing belt takes some place of the lights , so I am looking for small lights like the hella 's with high and low beam in one unit , very small and no problems afterwards with the carinspection !
The Hell's are not cheap ( +- 200 à 250€) for the 2 lights with all parts for correct installation , but you have superior quality .

Just to let eveybody informed about a point who most people won't pay attention to......
The upperarm must have some play on his shaft ,this play is created intentional by the shaft which is a little longer than the arm .
With this intentional play the shaft can not be jammed after tighted the nuts.
But if the play is to much; the arm will move by braking and accelarating and you will hear a click ,but also the shaft will be hit by the thrustwashers and
the shaft or/and the thrustwashers will wear very quickly !
I had 0.45 mm which was according Mini Spares still fine , but after info of some people, I decided to go for less play.
I machined the border of the big thrustwasher to bring the play between 0.15 and 0.2 mm .
Take attention if there is no play you can jam the shaft and this could be very dangerous !!!!
There is a technical drawing which is not 100% but explains better the problem .

What angle are you having your engine?

Gti engine is 15 degree inclinded so you may have an oil sump issue....
You should asked me for a Quad head light setup.
Have you fitted my beam axel yet?

Good luck with your build!

Cheers
Atchi

Hi Atchi,

I have to wait concerning the lights till the car is more finished , but please note that the lights should be marked with EU sign otherwhiles the lights are non- legal in BE.
My ENGINE angle is between 7 and 10° , I do not think this is a problem .......what is your opinion ?
I think I will installl the beam +- at the end of the year .
