Mk2 Midas for Sale

Postby centredonkey » Sat Nov 16, 2019 10:43 am

Alas, due to my 6'2" frame and increasing arthritis, I can no longer drive the Midas with any degree of comfort, so it's time to pass it on.

First of all, it's located 45 miles north of Inverness, please consider this before getting in touch.

This car was originally factory built, and destined as a prize at the Kit Car show.

The car is running, roadworthy, has a long MOT. MG Metro 1275 A+ and 4 speed gearbox.

All running gear new or refurbished, thousands spent on new parts. Complete new heavy duty rear beam axle, built from specs provided by the club.

Interior and body need re-finishing.

Price £1950 negotiable on viewing.

Colin

It was a one off by Steve Pearce who designed the (bronze) front and rear bumpers, if I remember correctly he was also responsible for the design of the convertible.

This is when he owned it, nice prize.

The spoiler really improves the look of the rear IMO.

Price is now £1750 as I'd rather it didn't sit all winter.

Hi Colin,
I'm based in Wiltshire but very interested in your Midas. Could you send me a message with more details about location? As I would need to either work out shipping or find a way from Inverness airport so I could drive it back (if you're open to it's new home being rather far away).

Hi Colin,
I am also interested in this although I may also have a size/ mobility issue. I am however, within a reasonable distance to come see try. Can you PM me with a contact number or email?

It's sold now.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for all the help over the years, glad to have saved one more of these fantastic wee cars for posterity.

Beetle next, I can fit in one of those!

Cheers

Car Reg check can help in many ways, because the used car you see could be a stolen one or a written off vehicle then you are in sure bound financial trouble. It is always best to be careful. Car Reg Check can identify the age of the vehicle and the place where it was registered. This proves very useful to the new car owner who can estimate the car's valuation. While this is a useful thing, there are other factors to consider such as Tax dues, Outstanding finances etc.
