Wanted - Rear 2.25id Springs

Postby Rich » Sun Sep 11, 2011 8:22 pm

As per my other wanted advert, I'm after a pair of rear springs for my Convertible. Looking for a starting point rather than a definitive poundage as personal preference seems to play a large part in recommendations so anything between 100 and 140lbs would be a good start.

Cheers

I've put 90lb springs in but thats mainly because the backends lighter as I've done away with the subframe. 140lb would probably be way to harsh for anything other than the track unless you carry slabs about

I wouldn't say I carry slabs around, but I ain't the lightest either....

Say I go for a 100lb spring, what free length do I need?

I have a pair of Avo shocks with springs laying in the attic. You can have them for free, just pay for the postage. I can send just the springs, which is cheaper than sending the whole lot. Disadvantage of these springs I find that they are too soft. My newer springs are the stronger ones that work great with the Spax dampers. Jut let me know if you're interested.

Hi Hans,

That's very generous of you! If you could give me an idea of postage costs from your end we could take it from there.

Hi Rich,
I have to weigh the dampers and springs, but due to work will be Friday at the earliest. But these are the Dutch tariffs:
http://www.postnl.nl/voorthuis/pakkette ... racktrace/
For England: 5-10 kg = 25 euro, 10-20 kg = 34 euro

Hi Hans,

I'd expect them to come in under 10kg so that should be fine.
