Wanted, a wheel

Postby streetsy » Wed Mar 18, 2015 10:02 pm

I am after a wheel to carry as a spare in my midas, it is a mk3 with the austin metro hubs (4x4" pcd), steel or alloy 13" preferred, with or without a tyre, can any body help? Richard

I have 4 Rover alloys that came off a K series engined Midas Gold built from a Rover GTA. (I assume that the PCD will be the same) You are welcome to pick out the best one. They are a bit tatty but did not leak. I am near Alfreton so easy for you to collect.

I would check the PCD - I believe the Rover Metro GTA used a completely different front suspension setup, the brakes are a different design too. It's not necessarily a given that the wheels would be the same. I'd check the offset, as well.

Yep, A and K series wheels are different unfortunately.

Thank you for the offer but as rich says, the wheels aren't interchangeable.

I got hold of a 13" mini wheel. The offset is only slightly different, studs and centre the same as the metro. Trial fitted it at the weekend and it works ok although clearly only as a spare.

A mini wheel may broaden the search, was it steel or alloy"?

The 12" steel mini wheels won't fit, due to having a smaller centre bore, as will be the case with most alloys I imagine.

What happened to the turbo wheels you had?

Won't fit in the slot for the spare, I carry one of those but it has to be laid in the boot so not a good use of the space

Ah ha, so that rules out all 13" Metro wheels, or is it just a tyre issue?
