That's something I keep meaning to do too Hans. You can get the bits to make a hood from most Yacht Chandlers (boats bit suppliers) as they use the same parts to make Spray Dodgers and Sun Biminis. There tubes are made in 316 stainless too, so look prettier and won't rust like my existing one have started to do....even inside the garage.
No doubt the Forum Police will now be on my back because I am referring to boat bits again.... But as there's probably more Chandlers than Car bit suppliers in this field I think it's relevant.
I reckon a break back hoop like TVR used to do would be great. There's was part soft top, part hardtop. The back soft top section could be left in to make a kind of Targa, with the front top bit made of GRP covered with hood material to match. Where the sections joined there was a U shaped gutter which drained off to the side.
