I like the colour, but the description is inaccurate to say the least.

Steady on now, the factory assembled mk2 was marketed as a Gold, the car has been deleted now so I'm can't check the reg, however if it was a none Q-plate then it could well have been a Gold, confusing I know. Of course that doesn't account for the rear-lights story.

If it was built quickly it's highly likely to be a bronze given the 1985 year it was registered.

You need to understand the Midas history.

Initially there was only one Midas and that was based on the Mini. It was available in just two specification of Kit Silver and Gold. Gold spec was everything brand new, the shell was 3/4 built and took about 20 hours to assemble and you got everything including a brand new engine. The Silver spec kit was pretty complete, you had to source your own engine and took longer to build.

Just before the launch of the Metro based car a Bronze specification of kit was introduced and you got little more than a shell. You had to make your own brackets from drawings in the build manual.

With the introduction of the Metro based car the names changed. The Metro based became the Gold and was available in various specifications and the Mini based car was renamed the Bronze and IIRC was only available in the previous Bronze and Silver specification.

Hope this helps
