Gold mk3 coupe full restoration project

Postby Hans Efde » Sun Sep 18, 2011 5:41 pm

Another Gold mk3 coupe on Ebay:

Must have been of the last produced, since it has the Rover 200 dash. Also an interesting engine under the bonnet, but condition may be questionable.

My last car came from Richard, looks similar condition wise to the one I bought.

Don't think I'll be bidding on this one, especially since I'll have a heated screen to pay for soon...

Given the price's they sell for at the moment even you could have four of them if you really wanted ;)

That's not a lot of money, is it? However I don't think the seller did himself any favours - almost the only decently exposed photo on the listing only served to show how bad the engine looked. From what I could make of the other photos, the gelcoat didn't really look too bad (if it wasn't paint) - it looks a lot better than mine does.

I'm still not keen on another Bronze though, I don't really have the room for even one more vehicle. If I did manage to convince my other half that I need another car, it'd have to be another Gold. And a cheap one, too. :-D

Sold for £630. A good job I'm not feeling very well today.

Did anyone on the forum buy it I wonder?

Thought that was a pretty good price compared to what astonmartine's Gold went for.

It wasn't me, by the way, although I was tempted (by both of the above).
