This looks like a nicely presented car with a few good extra bits - four pot calipers on the front for example.

Now that does indeed look a very nice car. I seem to recall seeing it before somewhere unless there's more than one white Mk2 with the red pinstripes.
Long way to go for someone down South but Jedburgh is well worth the visit in a Midas as the roads were surely made for the car there. This used to be one of my favourite road trips back in the day I used to travel up and down the country sorting out problems on petrochem sites and offshore platforms. Absolutely loved that route all the way from Newcastle up to Edinburgh Brilliant!
