Having to sell up, can't run three project cars!

Just out of interest (and to see if I can find the history of this car):
- why are pieces missing in the front where the mk1 Metro light pods with indicator and citylight should be positioned?
- what is the manufacturing date and 3 last digits of the serial number?

Some people cut bits out to increase airflow into the engine bay Hans.

As Hans says if it has a chassis plate it may be possible to work out the reg number, failing that does it have a name inside any of the panels anywhere?

What's the story behind the lack of ID?

I bought the car without id so i couldn;t say. I'll have a look at the serial number tomorrow to see what it says.

If we can work out the registration number you should be able to apply for the V5

This was the RHD car that we brought back from Berlin with the moulds.
Mal Hazell bought it from the club, so James must have bought it from Mal along with his Mk2.
I believe that this car had been road legal prior to being exported to Germany.
If there is a chassis number still on it, then we might be able to work out what the original registration number was.
I'm sure that the club will verify the re-importation and then it should be possible to get a V5 re-issued with either the original registration number or an age related plate.
This has got to be worth a try, otherwise somebody will be looking at around £500 for an IVA test, plus a load of dodges to get it through.

It was purchased from Mal when I purchased my midas from him, he had mentioned it was from abroad but i couldnt remember 100% if this was what he stated.
I also know he got the moulds from Germany having driven the truck over, but knew nothing else about the midas unfortuantely.

I could tell it has been on the road / registered before and would love to have a v5 for it.

I will grab the Serial no. off it tomorrow and let you all know...you sure are a helpful lot..

In 1990 it was owned by Jonathan Batts of Bournemouth with a registration number Q115 OCR..

According to the club supplement from 1994 the car was put on the road in 1988 and had a 1300cc engine. The registered color was grey and the owner and plate is as Stuart said.
