Taken the plunge

Postby johnnie » Mon Nov 11, 2013 11:08 pm

Hi all
Well I've got myself a Midas.
Just bought a fine example from Lanky James.
Happily drove the 150 miles home in awful conditions without missing a beat (apart from the indicators sort of packing up ho hum) :D
Really really pleased with it.

A little about me- I'm a Mini rather than kit car freak who just fancied a bit of a change. I do still have a John Cooper Works Ltd Edition that's undergoing a restoration after an incident involving a bit of brisk driving and a frankly ill advised out braking manover on a 350 z into a roundabout.
I'm the President of The Norfolk Mini Owners Club and the car will be appearing at all the major shows as well as trips to IMM (Lithuania 2015 next )

I look forward to meeting fellow owners, and if I can offer a small piece of advise this early into ownership it would be NEVER go test driving a Midas with clompy steel toe cap work boots on. (I can drive honestly James!!!)

Hi John, glad to hear you got home okay, I had forgotten to ask you how far the drive was home but as expected the car didn't miss a beat - the mini was the same and was driven 300miles to it's new home!

I hope you enjoy it and give it the show time I didn't have time for!

I think it may come as a shock to the other members on this forum as I hadn't advertised the car for sale or even mention the possibility! I just haven't used either the mini or midas since buying our fiesta and think its time for something new.

I'll be keeping an eye on the forums for updates and stories about it! Just glad it'd gone to a good enthusiastic owner who'll use it.

Most clubs I know seem to run yearly in line with the tax year, perhaps they'll give you a year and a half this time :)
