Thanks for the welcome from club members at the MOC AGM yesterday - I enjoyed my day out in, what used to be Alan Hudson's red convertible, Q352LFL.
I am new to the forum and think it is a great way for people to find help and information.
There was nothing like this when I built mine and I must have phoned Harold Dermott at least half a dozen times in a fortnight to get him to answer queries!
I see from posts last year that my previous midas gold is being rebuilt so will look forward to seeing Q450RNH back on the road. I lost track after I sold it in '90 or '91 when I emigrated to Canada.
I would love to hear about my first midas too if anyone has seen it. TBU825X, built around the time of the Royal wedding in June 1981 and sold with 100,000 on the clock in 1988 after I bought the Gold. I wish I hadn't sold it now .... Peter Filby wrote about the build in a very patronising article in Alternative Car in about '82. TBU was one of 6 blue Mark 2s that were built. I think it may have been sprayed black by its second owner as the gel coat had faded in the sun by the time I sold it.
If I can help midas owners I shall be happy to do so though I have to confess I am not as knowledgeable as most of you seem to be.
I am about 6 miles from J36 on the M4.
