Hi just joined today after seeing a Midas close up.I was quite impressed. Know nothing about the vehicle till I stumbled on this site. I built a Mini Marcos from scratch many years ag and sadly sold it and have tried to trace it to buy it back but had no luck.
I then re-built a Reliant Scimitar from 3 chassis and 1.4 shells and a new GRP front end.
Then looked at boats to keep me out of both pocket and mischief!!
Sadly impending marriage, mortgage, and available minutes all conspired to ensure the boat had to go as well.
The Midas looks nicer than the Marcos although I havent seen a Marcos up close for 20 +years apart from my Dinky model!
I am semi retired now and might be in the market for a project if the right one comes along.
However I am enjoying browsing through the forum and pics - possibly that will be the extent of my dreams- just looking over someones shoulder but keeping wallet, knuckles, marriage and sanity intact. I have a friend who just sold his Lotus Super 7 for a song. I was really annoyed that he had done that and at least not offered it to me first. He said he was going to give it to me but after vile and dark threats from my wife decided to sell it instead. I aked him why he sold it - he said he had not had time to work on it for 30 years so far so he doubted if he would in the forseable future!
Keep up the high quality work and postings.
Keith
