Just want to ask around if anyone plans to go to the International Mida...erh...Mini Meeting 2010 in Germany?

I am not going. I am going to put my Convertible up for sale when the sun starts shining again. But from Holland I suppose Ed will go with his splendid blue coupe.

Thats a pity Hans.

Are you still going to go for an early Mk3 Coupe?

Your contributions are greatly valued by me and many others.

Hi David,
Yes, if and when the Convertible is sold I want to find an early coupe (could even be a Bronze) for a project I have in mind. I love the Convertible for how it looks, but the coupe is the better GT car for longer distances and better handling. A Convertible with a wild motor is great for fun, but for GT travel I need a car that's quieter and friendly on fuel consumption. If it won't sell (there are a few nice Gold Convertibles already for more than a year for sale, so I am pessimistic), I'll just sell the turbo engine (which will be easy) and buy a standard A-series engine. Maybe mildly tuned, but nothing special. With a hardtop on I suppose it's just as comfortable as the coupe. I wish I had the money and space for both, but that's out of the question.

I hope it works out for you. At least you will still have a Midas when you put that jap engine in. ;)

I agree that the Coupe do has its uses. The load space is great. I have used it many times for moving flatpack kitchens to some of the flats I have been working on. No trouble at all!

I think I even managed one time to get 3 or 4 1000mm units with doors in as well as a sink. Not bad.
