I was just responding to a post from Dewsnap Mk1, which got me thinking; how many Mk1's are there out of the total of 67 (I think) built?
We have four Mk 1's that I know of, in the N.E.. But only one is on the road.
Is somebody able to do one of those clever DVLA searches, that tell you how many cars still exist?
Just curios!
Alan

I'm pretty sure they don't list kit cars, and if they did I don't think they'd seperate out the different models. I guess you could dig out some old club magazines that list the registration numbers and check out the ones listed that way.
Although not Mk1 related I checked my cars, I have a mk2 last on the road in May 1989, a mk3 last on the road in January 1995, and another mk2 last on the road in November 1998, when I say last on the road that's when the VED ran out. So I've got two cars that were only on the road for seven years apiece.

I've seen in the Classic car magazines, where they state that there are say a 1000 such and such cars registered, but say only 200 on the road! Stating that the information came from the DVLA website.
There you go Stuart, your task for the day!

Out of 18 mk1's
9 no details found
7 off the road before 1991
1 currently SORN
1 last taxed in 2004
0 currently taxed
Oddly Roger's mk1 comes up as no details found, any ideas Sam? is it registered as Midas or Mini Midas?

I'm just wondering, when David M. comes back from his jolly's, if he could do a poll for the different Marks, say cars owned and cars on the road. Another column could be for cars that are known to have been written off. Can anyone add to this idea?
Just thinking we could compare each result to the number built for each Mark!
If it is only ticking a box, people should join in. i'm just thinking about the Alive or Dead section, not a lot of owners have bothered!!
It would just be a bit of interesting fun!

Works fine when you use D & H Fibreglass as the make, theres gotta be loads of mk1s out there registered under slightly different names, so finding a record of all of them is gonna be hard work

My dads is being kicked out of its home during the winter so my Mini can be protected from the elements, but come easter, its all systems go with the rebuild, my deadline is mitp.
