Alternative uses for a Hydrolastic pump?

Postby Rich » Tue Apr 03, 2012 5:50 pm

Now I've converted to springs all round my pump has been getting buried deeper in the workshop over the last few months. Yesterday it was wheeled out to apply some hydraulic pressure to a pair of four pot calipers with seized pistons. A quick lash up with a rear three way fitting and some brake connectors resulted in eight very reluctant pistons moving for the first time in two or three years.

Anyone else found an alternative use for their pump?

Glad its still going strong. Nice to see an alternative use.

The joys of not having hydrogas spheres.....I rechecked the ride height on my car today. Took the front wheels off and gave each knuckle joint 2 flats turn extra ride height. The first time I have adjusted them in 3 or so years daily driving.

Just hoping it gets through the MOT OK tomorrow.
