Sometimes it's hard to predict how well a car will tow, especially when it is FWD. When I was racing one friend/competitor tried towing behind his Renault 21 turbodiesel, but found that it continually spun its front wheels when moving off and locked them when braking. He swapped it for a Vauxhall Carlton which proved to be ideal. Another friend/competitor towed behind a Lotus Carlton and that hardly noticed that the trailer was hooked on the back.
I've since towed cars behind a turbodiesel Peugeot 406 and we frequently tow the Deronda behind Kelvin's Citroen Picasso, both FWD and both good towing barges. As I said, it is sometimes hard to predict how well a car will tow until you try.
