Gordon Murray Documentary BBC4 8.00pm Sunday night

Postby ACourtney » Sat Jul 07, 2012 8:06 pm

I've just noticed in the TV listings that there is a documentary entitled "How to go faster and influence people - the Gordan Murray F1 Story" on BBC4 tomorrow night.
It is made by Mark Stewarts's production company so it is likely to be worth watching.

So what is your favourite Murray design?

The Brabham BT46 tops my list, if only because the Mclaren F1 was styled by someone else (Peter Stevens).

Unlikely, more likely to feature a Fiat 500.

Good call on the Fiat 500 Stuart. One of his favourite cars. I recall a magazine feature with Murray trying a Smart car, when it first came out, and comparing it to the Fiat.

Also good to see the Rocket, a mixture of spaceframe and composites like the T25.

A friend who supplies parts to F1 teams said he was amused when visiting McLaren HQ to see a line of large Mercedes neatly parked, with GM's Fiat 500 among them...Obviously a man who goes his own way - I bet Ron hated that!
