Mobile observatory

Postby benofbrum » Thu Aug 13, 2015 2:40 am

Just got back from the peak District where I went to watch shooting stars. Pointed car in right direction, hood off and seat reclined. A lot less activity than forecast, about twenty in 100 minutes instead of 100 an hour, but one massive one at about 12.25. Had a great drive back. Roll on Castle Combe!

It seems this night will have the highest frequency of falling stars, with a predicted max of 50 per hour.

Sadly, we also have 100% cloud cover in this part of the world
