Mk3 Midas Rear Sub frame

Postby Alan D. » Fri Mar 06, 2009 11:20 pm

Hello everybody,

Last weekend, I was working with George Sutherland on his rear subframe. George's subframe is rusted through and won't pass an MOT. So George has acquired a number of sub frames, with the hope of finding a replacement. But all of the sub frames that he has found are in a pretty poor state. So he is reluctant to fit them as he will have to replace the subframe again in a year or so!

I was speaking to Tony Moss ( Secretary of the Midas owners club)tonight and he has found a supply of new rear sub frames. The company is Rimmer Bros, follow the link below.

They are actually a bargain price, so grab the opportunity, while it is there!

The rear subframe seems a bargain. would this subframe fit directly to a mk3 coupe?. i always thought the original frame was a custom made item. Any ideas anyone. many thanks Pete.

Yes it will Pete, some small bits need cutting off if you want to fit undertrays. I'll be amazed if they have any left though. Get one ordered as soon as possible.
