Brand new heated rear hatch for Mks 1,2 & 3 Midas's

Yes, here we go again and after the success of the heated front screen purchase. This is all part of my quest to produce a modern Midas, which I can use as my every day car!

I have managed to source some heated rear hatches or rear screens for the Mk's 1,2 & 3 Midas coupes. These hatches can made especially for us in Spain. I have sent an original rear hatch to their factory and they have offered to make us a new batch of hatches, as per the original hatch, but with screen printing around the edge, in order to hide the rubber sealing strip. the screen will also have a heating element printed onto it at the same time.

The cost of these hatches will be in the region of £110 plus VAT (not sure about the VAT), which includes £5 which I have added to cover my expenses etc. I imagine that Harold would have been charging about this price all of those years ago! Again we will need a minimum order. I already have orders for five hatches, so we just need a few more to get the order placed.

I anticipate delivery somewhere about September or October, which will give you plenty of time to save up or just spend the children's inheritance as I am!

Again this will be a one off opportunity, as I don't think that there will be anyone else daft enough to take on all of this organization and trouble!

Hi Alan,

Great! Put me down for one. But only if it has the screen printing as you have suggested. I really regret not requesting having it on the front screens.

With the limited view in the rear its not going to make a difference if there's a small visibility reduction and the benefit will be professional in appearance.

I just checked my old prices and in 1990 a second hand screen with broken heated screen element were going for £25. Compound that up nearly 20 years and you get the idea its a good price today.

Cheers,

David

Graeme.

I think the lock is some kind or RS part (or some other similar catalogue).

Will have a look in my reference material and check.
