Not only are the prices of the Gold coupe climbing, also the original brochure is gaining value:

Nice to see they are starting to get the recognition they deserve.

Who knows, maybe one day they will match the bugly marcos. ;)

Just what I was thinking, if I'd been up at 2am or whatever time it finished I might have had another bid, I've got a tatty one with the metalic grey MK 3 with horrible red wheels (what on earth was Harold thinking)

I think Harold wanted to copy an old Porsche racing scheme here on the GT3 RS:

Wheeler dealers did something similar on a Porsche 944 turbo:

Hi Everyone,
Long lost member here, 361 Chris Mahon. I recognised that brochure immediately. I have one which Harold Dermott gave me at a factory visit when I test drove a bronze. Ultimately ended up with one just like it but with MG Metro white alloy wheels. The MG inset is in Burgundy to match the Midas Gold car -A nice touch I thought.
I have pondered the old question of "what came first, the chicken or the egg" and last week (at the age of 54) realised what the answer was.It was the egg, laid by a reptile which was gradually evolving into a chicken. So the last egg was laid by a reptile which was nearly a chicken and the egg contained the first chicken. Well maybe someone will be interested!
I'll put my re-introduction stuff in soon.

Hi Chris, I noticed you'd joined the forum, am I right in saying you live/lived near Ashbourne and at one point had a damaged mk2 for sale in various bits and pieces?

Guessing you still have a Midas or are on the lookout

Hi Stuart,
You are quite right. Lived at Western Underwood and before that Boylestone. Now in Barton under Needwood just South of Burton upon Trent and selling my burgundy Gold ,which I bought in 1991, before retiring and emigrating. No Bronze bits left now, the doors finally went in 2002 I think. Packed up as an Automotive Engineer and retrained as a Plumber 6 years ago -hard work and couldn't have done that all my life!
