Midas Run The A712 "the Queens Way"

On Saturday the 28th September 2013. I'm organizing a run out, subject to the weather. It will take part in S W Scotland and will take in mainly the route which follows the A712 "The Queens Way". This road is particularly beautiful, with the added attraction of wild goats, red deer and amazing scenery.

If I can get enough support, I'm planning a " Midas Reliability trial" over three of the high passes in the Lake District. Honester, Wrynose and Hardknott Pass. That should get the radiators cleaned out!
Somebody has to try and do something. Perhaps we can get some of the southern softies to join in! Or maybe even our Dutch friends. The cars are to be used!!!

It might not the the Top Gear Italian Pass beginning with S. ( I cannot remember the name, old age) But it is a world heritage site.

Well at least we've got lightweight cars!

That may breakdown and be unpredictable, but that's the fun!

I'm about as far South as you can get on this island but I'm no Southern Softie (parents are geordies and I grew up walking up the likes of Honister and Kirkstone Passes in my wellies as a lad! Not to mention Striding Edge)

I'd love to come along to this I used to love driving between Newcastle and Edinburgh through the likes of Jedborough, some of the best roads to be found that's for sure. When I get my Midas on the road I'm aiming to do the same sorts of things down here too Alan. So let's be seeing more of these Midas Owners out and about. Next event down this way is Castle Combe with Mini World's Action Day. That's a great day out. I'll be there even without my Midas

I used to ride my push bike bike over Honister. Without too much trying you could also include Whinlatter pass which was always used as a stage on the RAC as well. I drew the line at Hardknott and Wrynose on the bike though, they are seriously hardcore!
