Interesting, I think I'll wait for the prices to fall somewhat before splurging on a pair.

I love a good gadget but what's the appeal?
I know leds draw less current and last longer but is the current an issue and bulbs are so cheap that longevity would have to be a lifetime to pay off, are they brighter ?

Yes they're claimed to be brighter and have more coverage. Customer reviews on Amazon are very positive about them too.
