Can someone inform me if the pedalbox used in the MKII is an original Mini classic pedalbox .
The reason of my question is that I intend to install a assembled pedalbox mini classic with cylinders, biasregulation , etc.....
On the other hand, I do not want to cut in the polyester fibre ...just drilling some holes if necessary .
I just have taken a random example of such a box .

Yes, the MKII has a mini classic pedalbox.

The mini pedal box came in two types, the late and early. My MKII has the early type.

Both types will have been fitted depending on the donor car, earlier ones had slimmer levers and smaller pads compared with later ones.

The length and angle of the standard levers isn't correct for a Midas so some will have been modified, although the standard arms do fit and work I think. There are minor issues with the fixings too I think due to the GRP thickness. But then I'd imagine the pedal box you have in mind won't be a simple bolt in job even on a Mini.

What year did the pedals change .

For my MK2, the pedals were out of a 1976 1275 GT, I didn't modify them as they felt pretty comfortable as they were, but to regain the full travel of the master cylinders before the pedal touched the floor I made longer push rods for both the master cylinders.

The change occurred in 1976 when the MK 4 was introduced.

Yes Stuart I do work in a machine shop. When I built my Midas in 1989, I modified the existing push rods to extend them which worked ok but they were a bit of a bodge, so this time round with the new master cylinders I decided to make the push rods from scratch.
