It looks exactly like the rad in my ’85 Mk2, with header take off at the right hand side.

I had to move the fan on mine when I put the engine from my Mk3 in because it has a starter solenoid attached to the starter, rather than a remote one as the original engine had, and the solenoid and fan motor wanted to occupy the same space. Initially I tried swapping the starter motors over, but the pinion and flywheel ring gears where different and didn’t mesh, so the rad had to come out. The original solenoid is still in there acting as a junction box as the wiring loom was tailored to fit that layout.

The next problem with radiators will be the doughnut shaped rubbers, which you can see in Jon's last picture, don't seem to be available anymore. I acquired some K-series ones but they are much thicker, I tried the thicker ones on the Mk3 and they were to big to use, but that was some years ago, maybe I should look again. Can we get any made or does anyone know were we can get them from? Maybe the Polybush people could make some, or we need a different idea.
This box that we should be looking outside of, seems to be getting bigger!!!

Rubber grommets are available in many OD and ID sizes. Try RS, Farnell or Maplin

I'll start with the bottom radiator bushes, I found these grommets that look closest to what I have.

What happened to your Mk3 which has donated its parts to the Mk2?

The Mk3 that donated most parts was my first one, which unfortunately was beyond economic repair after a little incident in 2004 involving a ploughed field and a 360 rotation about the longitudinal axis. Alistair took away the bare shell - I don't know if it was used for anything.

I bought some landrover rad mounts, their a very tight fit though
