Droopy headlining

Postby Stairheedrammy » Sun Oct 08, 2017 7:46 pm

The headlining on my mk 2 bronze hangs down past the upper doorframes and Im planning to use screws to hold them higher but the door lip is too thin for that. Looks like I need to screw it to the roof but to save me taking the whole lining off I wondered if anyone here knew where the best place was to place the screws and what size of screws to use?

The front part of the headlining is secured by 4 No8 x 1/2" posidrive countersunk screws. These screw into a fiberglass rollover bar that runs the width of the car, but if my memory serves me correctly bear in mind it was nearly 30 years ago since I built the car, the rollover bar isn't very wide and doesn't leave much room for error and runs the risk of drilling a hole in your roof. So I strongly recommend removing the headlining to locate the exact position of this bar. The build manual is quite vague and only advises what screws to use and to screw them into this fiberglass bar but gives no measurments to where.
