Till now I did not find anything which may suppose Brain changed the position of the frame .
But inside there 's something that determine the position of the bolts of the frame , I make tomorrow some pictures so you will understand better .
Is there any possibility to get in touch with Brain ?

Hi Stuart
In annex you can see what I mean what Brian did to fix the rear frame at a certain position .
The place of the system to fix the bolts are just near the middle tunnel , right side , seen from the back of the car .
And you are right ,Brian did change the position of his rear frame some mm ( +- 6 mm) to the left , also seen from the back of the car .

On my own Mk2, the bolts, who seems originals, are 3/8.

I've just remove the rear subframe as it is a perfect candidate for an hot galvanisation treatment, enhance by a pair of Stainless steel brackets to hold the others ends of the trailing arms studs.
