Was browsing Minispares website for a nex LCB, the castiron manifold on mine is looking a bit worse for wear...
Came upon this: MANIFOLD METRO LCB LMO22 very similar to C-AEG365 but 0.375" shorter to fit in the metro mini engine bay but also ideal for small bore engines and some 970/1071 cc cooper S
My question is, would a shorter Metro LCB be a better fit than a standard for the Mini?
Had no idea they were different.

If you have a gold mk3 the metro one is the one you want.

Just wonder if it will be ok with a 1380cc? It says ideal for small bore engines and some 970/1071 cc cooper S

Yes it should be fine due to the shape of the subframe on the metro which is different to the minis in the exhaust area. Remember that blocks on the 970 and 1070 are shorter, so the head fits lower, therefore manifold needs to be shorter on the mini. Same effect, different reason.

You are absolutely right there, but I was thinking more in terms of it being efficient enough? Will it flow ok?

Yes it will flow fine. That's what I am using on my 7 ports, in stainless.

There is an issue with the bore diameters in relation to the engine capacity. Consult David vizard's book for details.
