Hi,
I have just wheeled my Midas out after 5 years of neglect in the garage. I am just trying to figure fitting the RC40 exhaust I bought back then. I have new LCB down pipes, a V connecting 2 into 1 piece, then a ball knuckle with a flange on one end that will need to be sawn off. Then I have a very nice shiny center pipe with muffle box & then the RC 40 end piece.
Of course it doesn't fit as standard. The center piece as standard seems not to fit above the rear cross beam, but under looks a good option. Then I could most easy fashion a center exit with the RC40 rear box - by just having a different end box exit pipe angle. The problem with that is, the exhaust end box is a bit lower than I would like. Has anyone here done a mod such as this. If so, is ground clearance OK this way (speed bumps!) ?
(Update - No OK it does fit above the rear cross beam if I cut it at this point, but the RC40 rear box is quite big and to clear the fuel tank for center exit, it's still going to be quite low to the ground. The best option for the RC40 box would appear to be with the box tucked in and parallel to the rear panel, with a 90 bend for the exhaust outlet from the box. Then this would require a bit of pipe fabrication to connect the rear box section to join the pipe at the rear cross beam. Has anyone gone for this option?)
Any advice/pictures/links would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Kevin
