I can only express my sympathy, this seems all too common these days. A friend of mine has fitted a CCTV camera overlooking his Lotus Elise as he has had so many incidents with it. So far he has caught a vandal kicking off the door mirror (Rover 100, just like my Midas!) and a delivery van clouting his neighbours car.
A new front bumper is £250, but the damage doesn't look too bad and could be repaired. However, you will never be able to blend in a gelcoat repair successfully so you will end up having to paint the bumper.
I think that Hans is being a bit pessimistic on value, since your car is a runner with a current MOT. In fact the yellow Mk3 that Hans referred to did attract bidders and went as high as £1200, before being withdrawn two days before the auction was due to end. That leads to the conclusion that somebody made an offer in excess of the then highest bid and the seller went for a quick sale. On that basis I would think your car would be worth more than £1200 if the interior and mechanics are in good order.
