Antifreeze?
Ahggh

Not near paint or any decorative surface for that matter, and unfortunately most screen washes contain glycol which is why I never use them personality. The heating elements in the washer jets is just enough to prevent freezing of the nozzles themselves not to heat the water as such.
The benefit being even if your reservoir is full of pantyfreeze or screen wash fluid the nozzles could still freeze up if rained upon or covered in hard frost / snow.
Probably not essential for the UK though

Personally, always used water with 20% IPA (not the beer, of course) with a dash of Mild Green Fairy, and never had a problem. Nice and cheap, too. Heated washers sound a bit too modern for me!

Just what I always used in the days when I had a ready supply of IPA! :)
