Am currently completeing (reworking) a Mk 3 convertible recently bought.
In having to rework the harness loom necessiatig getting the wiper assembly out, determined that the wiper motor was u/s. Got a complete new wiper assemblywith motor OK (all works fine) but have noted that the previous (Midas) owner has reworked the offside (driver's side) of the originall fitted wiper linkage; lengthening the offside crank arm by about 6/7mm (byinserting a filler piece). The effect will be to reduce the sweep of the n/s wiper.
I haven't found anything in the Midas build manual to recommend/instruct doing this - so wonder about the need for this. As it wasn't a small job to do, Presumably the previous owner made some judgement about the sweep with the standard crank arm length resulting in too wide an arc of wiper sweep.
Any knowledge/comments ?
Any info/advice appreciated.
cheers
