Mini Action Day 2017 - 30th September - Castle Combe

Postby ACourtney » Wed Jul 26, 2017 8:57 pm

This year is the 25th Mini Action Day, so if you haven't been along before then give it a try this year.

For those who like to drive their Midas fast there is the chance to go out on track and take it to the limit. If you prefer a more sedate pace then join the other Midas Owners for the lunchtime parade lap. If you just like looking at cars then, there is plenty to choose from. Mostly Mini shaped, admittedly, but plenty of variation on that Mini theme: We've seen Minis with all sorts of engines, Minis with two engines, Minis with lowered roofs, Minis with no roofs, short Minis and long Minis, oh and usually a Dalek, or two.

Tony has booked our club area and will be getting free tickets for club members. There is also the chance of a good discount on track time if you book early. Book before August 18th and the price of a 15 minute session comes down to £20, book by September 21st and the price is £25, or £30 depending on the time slot. Book it on the day and the session will cost £35.

So if you want a free ticket, or a discounted track session, then contact Tony by email: secretary@midasownersclub.co.uk, or phone him on 07850917392

What a great day we had at Castle Combe yesterday. We may only have had seven cars this year, but we made up for it with great enthusiasm

Some of our group joined the lunchtime parade, but somebody had to stay behind to take the photos. (That is my excuse and nothing to do with losing track of time whilst perusing the trade stands!)

The car we were all gathered around was Simon Camm's mid-engined, VVC MGF, powered Gold Coupe. Many people have talked about doing such a conversion, but Simon has actually done it:
