Bristol Classic Car Show June 22nd and 23rd

Postby ACourtney » Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:12 pm

The next show for the club is the Bristol Classic Car Show, held at the Royal Bath & West showground, near Shepton Mallet, on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June.

This will be the club's fourth visit to this friendly show held in deepest Somerset and Tony seems to have arranged for a packed stand this year, with a couple of different cars on the Saturday and the Sunday - Yes, the Bristol Classic is run by an organiser who understands the needs of clubs and cars can be swapped from one day to the next.

As well as all the club stands and the Classic Car Park outside, where you may find anything from a Napier Railton replica to a Bristol 405 'Rat Car' (okay clockwork mouse!), there is a Classic Car Auction a trade hall and an autojumble.

That was another great weekend down in the West Country.

We squeezed four cars into a smaller stand this year, but that was because there were more clubs exhibiting more cars than last year and the halls were rammed full.

Helped by the fine weather, Saturday proved to be a very busy day, probably the busiest day we have seen in the five years we have been attending. The classic car park outside the hall was overflowing with all sorts of vehicles. Sunday was a little quieter, but proved to be a good day nonetheless.

Meredith's Mk2 won a 'highly commended' rosette, which was significant as that was as a result of votes that were cast by visitors and exhibitors. What is more, none of the MOC crew voted for Meredith's car (or any other car for that matter) as Tony had left our voting forms in his car.
