copy right issues magazines

Postby Hans Efde » Wed May 27, 2009 12:51 pm

Dear all,
I am in the process of building the new club magazine issue 62 and the sister magazine MCF02, to be published somewhere in June. During the last club meeting there were a few objections of articles appearing in both magazines. I have explained that info for the club mag is per the legal notice free for publication, but may be copyrighted when submitters want. I will come back to this in the editorial.
The same applies to info coming from this forum. If I need to fill a gap or want to preserve interesting stuff for future generations, I will use the pictures and info you have submitted. It will then appear in both magazines. If you as a member and contributor object against the use in the forum magazine and/or the club magazine please inform me via a PM and I will not use your contributions.
Cheers, Hans

Hans,

Please feel free to use any of my material for your publications either in the Midas club mag or in any other publication you see fit. Personally I feel it is very narrow minded and insular to want to close stuff off if we want to promote our cars. I'm proud of my cars and I hope everyone else is too with theirs. Only way to publicize that is to open it up for all to see. Cant see that happening in the Mini world.

Following on from that maybe we should have two clubs. One for Midas Classic owners and one for Midas Development (or whatever title seems best) owners to inject some life into these cars.

It works well in boating circles. One just has to look at how the development classes of sailing dinghys have moved on with leaps and bounds.

The silhouette structure of the mk3's is very good, just let down in the technology department. Needs updating in the suspension and power source departments. I'd love to see a motorbike powered or a realistic electric powered Midas for example, or even a electric Hybrid with a power extender motor.

Talking to Alan D earlier we agree a rear motorbike engined Mk3 Coupe would be great. Its just begging for it really. Not as though you can see out of that back window anyway. :)

Just a thought and happy to discuss.

Cheers,

David

I was mulling the idea over!

The rear wheel drive conversion is definately a good option. Opens up the cars drive train to many more options bike or car and leaves the
front end open for a nice large luggage space.

Check out the RWD Murray Bronze pics on the Yahoo site for details. Sounds easy but there goes a lot of design work in such a project. It's a fascinating idea though. It took Murray 10 years to get his car on the road with the help of a number of specialist companies.
But forget the luggage space under the bonnet. That's pathetic compared to the rear. Just take a look at the pic of the front of the Murray Bronze. And that's even without the radiator!
Concerning this car I'd love to see pics of the finished car. It seems to be driven now by his son. Anyone on this forum has seen this car in the flesh?

I'm obviously a bad influence on David. Swaying him from the A series path!

:)

I'm easy going either way motorwise. I can see pluses and minuses with each. Just enjoying our little cars.

Makes me smile everyday I jump in min, even when it gives me headaches, like now with a damn misfitting (misbehaving more like) outer CV boot that keep falling off.
