Many thanks for the drawings, Stuart, here's a little "before and after" picture.
Think I'll spray the old one gold and in for the Turner Prize!

Very impressive, that'll take a long time to rot.

Ooops, sorry for repeating myself, thought there was a tech problem with the site, turned out I'm so dim I didn't realise that there could be a page 2 on a thread!DOH!!!
Oh, and thanks to Steve for posting the pix of the beam, great to refer to when the drawings befuddled me.

Hi,

I have helped Alan makes his rear beam.
He has now 5 set of steels laser cutted so watch this space.

I made this for Geert

I have mine fitted to my Mini with my hand made rear radius arms.

Our car now rolling again with all four wheels pointing in the right direction for the first time since we bought it!
Alas, now that the axle is sorted, the standard factory fitted Spax coilovers are making the arse end sit up even higher!
As they are banjaxed, I'm looking for a pair of bolt on replacements which will lower the rear at the same time
Any one found a good product that is currently available?

In my opinion the standard Gaz damper supplied for a Midas is 2" too long when fitted to a mk2.
They'll all make a damper to the length you ask for.

Dave at Dampertech supplied these AVO dampers for me when he used to sell AVO dampers, he also supplied the GAZ damper which works fine on a Midas Mk3.

This is that Midas Gaz damper fitted on full bump without a spring.

That looks more like it, Stuart.
What is the spec/spring length I need to ask Dave for?

I can't remember the length exactly, I guess you could just ask Dave for a Midas one but 2" shorter, or erring on a less extreme one perhaps an inch shorter, then you can add a 4lb/inch run flat so that if you go for a racy rate of 110lb/in your dampers won't be at full extension.

You can see a compressed run flat spring on Jon's car

here's mine on those AVO dampers
