I've had to replace looms in the past so what I did in the end was lay the loom out on the drive and cut any suspect looking wire and replace it. It took a while but the only real problems I've had are the rear lights but on the next resto to get rid of spider cracks I'm going to replace the cavalier lights with aftermarkets ones

take a mould off the rear lights and do what Charlie did. Seems the best way forward without being too much to the body.
