That's where the inspiration for the MK 2 dash came from.

That's a nicely done bit of trimming. It reminds me of my old Lotus Excel in fact the seats could very well be ex Lotus

Just came across this post.

I knew the guy who had this car built for a ridiculous amount of money and bought it from Charlie Dodd ‘needing work’ some years later. I owned the car for about 20 years finally donating it to Alistair at Midas in 2015 when I lost my garage (and other half). Alistair has the paperwork including the trimming bill. It looked pretty but wasn’t too clever and was a bit of an ergonomic disaster.

They are ex-Lotus seats and the glove box was a drop down unit beneath the dash - the catch is visible to the left of the the map light.

An interesting bit of Midas history nonetheless.
