Completed: 1988
Engine: Originally 1400
Chassis #: 3011104
Factory produced: Corby

Factory built in 1988 by Midas Cars at Corby for Dick Arbery, a retired Customs and Excise Officer, who lived in Cherry Hinton, near Cambridge. It had a 1400 Avonbar engine and a towbar for pulling a sailing dinghy.
Dick covered over eighty thousand miles in it before he died in 2003. It was passed to his daughter and son-in-law who kept it for a couple of years before it went to Paul Littlechild in Fulbourn. He kept it for a year, then sold it to me on Ebay in May 2005. In April 2007 it was deemed beyond economic repair after a 30mph front end impact with a taxi. I sold it on for the recovery value to a Gold Convertible owner who wanted the refurbished rear subframe and coil spring rear suspension. He completely dismantled it and the parts where scattered far and wide. The bodyshell, minus V5, was purchased for £20 by a gent who lives near Sheffield (who also owns a Bronze), and he repaired the crash damaged and is building it up with K Series running gear and 8 valve engine. He intends to SVA it and get it back on the road, but has a lot of other commitments so it may be a while.
The status of the V5 is unknown.
