Just one week after visiting Gaydon for the Festival of Transport, the club will return for this new event.
This is the first event that I can think of that is targeted at Metros (as well as Minis and BMW MINIs).
It will be interesting to see how many Austin and MG Metros turn up, especially as just a couple of years back the naysayers were claiming that there were just around 30 of them still on the road. That claim was based on figures found on http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk, which has revised the figures upwards now to a more believable 500 or so Austins on the road, with around 1400 on SORN and around 140 MG Metros taxed, with 460ish on SORN. So not many more MG Metros running than all the various Midas models, but then again rust is less of an issue for a Midas!
The howmanyleft website doesn't list the Midas separately (we get lumped into Other British), yet it lists other obscurities such as Wiesmann (2) and Praga (2 taxed, 4 sorn), so perhaps we should start to lobby the site to list the Midas marque. (Have I veered off topic? )
The show starts at 10.00am and the club has booked a pitch. Tony still has two or three entry passes (free to members and includes entry to the museum) and he can be contacted on 07850917392.
