Wheel cylinder

Is there an easy way to fit those bastard E-clips that locate the wheel cylinders? Only two hands available, taking the back plate off not allowed! I usually give up and use a nornal circlip.

I've always used a flat bladed screw driver easing one side on thumb it then ease the other side then tap home till it clicks in place with out piercing ya mit definatly not as easy as it sounds best of luck :(

That's how I do it too. I believe there is a special tool to fit them too.

Things are going from bad to worse. Changed the wheel cylinder, bled the brakes, no air coming out. Started the engine, pedal went down to the floor with no resistance whatsoever. Ideas? Servo and m/c are only 2 years old.

Did you pressure bleed them or pump them?

Pump. Last time I used my Eezibleed the reservoir exploded.

Odd that it would pump but not pressurise, personally I'd re-bleed them and resign myself to replacing the master cylinder if that doesn't work, you aren't dumping fuid all over the floor and all your connections are good in the pedal box and between the MC and servo.

I changed mine to single line calipers and a balance bar and its actually a pleasure bleeding brakes. It takes me 5 mins to do the front and same at rear. Thank god I got rid of the metro ones sometimes it could take hours, whatever method you do.

I can now use off the shelf brake cylinders too!

Bleeding has never been a problem before. My man says that in his garage they never use a full stroke of the pedal as they have had a lot of trouble with damaged seals. Anyway, a new master cylinder is on its way.
